Distinguished Professional Engineer Award 2026

The Board would like to invite you to nominate deserving fellow professional engineers as candidates for the Distinguished Professional Engineer Award 2026.

The Distinguished Professional Engineer Award is given to a professional engineer who is recognized widely as a distinguished member of the profession who has attained high standards in professional competence and expertise and inspires other members of the profession. The award is held once every two years.

Our recipients for the Distinguished Professional Engineer Award 2024 are Er. Chua Chong Kheng and Er. Tan Ngo Chiaw.  Er. Chua was instrumental in LTA’s successful delivery of the rail network consisting of the Circle Line (CCL), Downtown Line (DTL) and Thomson East-Coast Line (TEL).  He also played a pivotal role in the successful launch of the world’s first driverless and fully automated heavy metro system for the North-East Line and had led many groundbreaking initiatives, including the world’s first integrated stacked rail depot for 3 rail lines (EWL, DTL and TEL) and bus depot.

Er. Tan, on the other hand, contributed immensely to the enhancement of Singapore’s water security and resilience. He led and worked with the project teams and stakeholders to adopt the best technologies to ground-breaking projects across the entire water cycle.  Among the projects are the Changi Waste Water Reclamation Plant (CWRP), acclaimed as one of the largest and most advanced water reclamation facilities in the world, the Deep Water Sewerage System (DTSS) and the Choa Chua Kang Waterworks upgrading project which was named the Water Project of the Year at the Global Water Awards 2020.

Nomination forms are to be submitted according to the Word template provided. The closing date for submitting a nomination is 20 April 2026.

Following the nomination, PEB would inform you by 18 May 2026 on whether your nomination is accepted for further consideration. If your nomination is accepted for further consideration, a detailed nomination would be required by 13 July 2026.
